I do my reveal sessions differently from any other photographer I know, and I think the distinction is very important.
After the shoot, we'll sit down and look at the pictures together and choose the ones you want to keep based on whatever picture package you choose. What most photographers do is tell you to go get a cup of coffee or a sandwich or go across the street or something for an hour. They might even tell you to come back in a week. The purpose of that is to hide the bad photos and retouch the best ones so that you don't see any of the flaws or things they don't want you to see.
I don't do that.
I sit down with you and we watch the pictures load together. No Photoshop. No editing. No deleting "bad" ones. You see exactly what I see exactly at the same time I see it and it's my favorite part of the whole process. I show you all of them. I've always done it like that and I will always keep doing it like that. Why? Because I love seeing the looks on people's faces when they see a completely unfiltered look at themselves, seeing themselves the way I see them. I want my clients to know that what they are seeing is 100% them. It's an important part of my process because I don't want you to be wondering how many "bad" ones I had to get rid of to find good ones of you. I don't want you wondering what I had to do to "fix" any of the good ones to make you look awesome.
I get a lot of "What...that's me? Is that edited? That's straight off the camera?" It's my favorite part for sure.
After they load, I'll hand the keyboard over to you and you'll go through and mark your favorites. We'll talk about any edits you want, any cropping, or anything you want changed. Some people have scars they want hidden. Other people have scars they want prominently featured. Most of the edits I do are things like cleaning up the background or cleaning up wrinkles in clothes, but I'll do whatever edits make you happy.
